In Plymouth, the 90-day due diligence period included in the three-year lease agreement between Plymouth County and Boston South Real Estate and Development Group has come due.
The lease concerns the woodlot, a parcel of land of about 110 acres off Long Pond Road. Commissioner Jared Valanzola is the lead negotiator for the County on the project.

“We entered into an agreement with Boston South, late spring, early summer and part of that agreement, included their investigation of possible uses of the County woodlot. They had baked in a 90-day due diligence phase, which passed this past Wednesday without any indication that they plan on pulling back on this project.”
Valanzola says the 90-day due diligence period, allowed to Boston South Development, is an opportunity…
“…to review real estate documents, titles, deeds other possible encumbrances or clouds that could be on any of those titles or deeds. As far as I know there weren’t, and frankly, where we didn’t hear from them before the deadline, I’m of the assumption that everything is still full-steam ahead in their investigative phase, which is now over the next three years.”
And Commissioner Valanzola believes Boston South is continuing to investigate…
“…any and all possible uses for that property that would have an entertainment component to them.”
And that could be a race track?
“That could be a race track, that could be a baseball stadium, that could be a convention center. It could be a golf course. It could be a Top Golf. It could be a World Tour Golf. It could be restaurants. It could be hotels. There’s a whole lot of things that could be possibly put on that property.”
