Say hi to Sid! Sid is a 3-year-old chihuahua mix with a bit of a sad tale to tell. While Sid’s past may not have been the best, he made very quick friends with his foster dad and is now loving life!
Our friends at Scituate Animal Shelter tell us Sid has a neurological condition that causes him to be a bit wobbly. He sways a bit back and fourth and you will notice when he walks it is not in a straight line. This doesn’t stop him from being a happy guy though! He has seen a neurologist who assures Sid had an excellent quality of life and will not require future vet care for this.
Sid bonded very quickly in his foster home but like many chihuahua’s, new people make him a little nervous. He does not have a mean bone in his body though, he prefers to retreat and hide. Sid is currently living with cats and has previously lived with dogs. Large dogs may be too much for him but we think he will adjust to most other pups.
Sid is working very hard on house breaking and while he is doing an ok job, his new home should be up for lots of continued training. He needs a great routine and consistency.
The outside world tends to frighten Sid a bit. He is not much for walks and prefer the comfort of his yard. He much rather be inside sitting on your lap! If you are looking for an active companion, this is not your man!
Sid is a quirky little man! Overall he is a just a sweet dog looking for a lap to call his very own.
