For nearly 50 years, a woman found brutally slain in Provincetown was known only as the “Lady in the Dunes.”
Earlier this week, the FBI’s Boston Division announced through forensic genealogy, they were finally able to identity her – 37-year-old Ruth Marie Terry, from Tennessee.
Now, investigators are looking for more information about her, and they want to learn more about a man they believe she married, several months before her body was found.
That man was identified as the now-deceased Guy Rockwell Muldavin, a white male born in 1923. He was also known to use the names “Raoul Guy Rockwell”, and “Guy Muldavin Rockwell”.
State Police Colonel Chris Mason said earlier this week, that Terry’s identification is not the end of the case.
Investigators believe they were married in 1974, and want information about their whereabouts in New England, specifically in Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
Ruth Marie Terry was also known to use the names “Teri Marie Vizina”, “Terry M. Vizina” and “Terri Shannon.”
