Veterans’ Day Events Schedule Around South Shore

South Shore Veterans’ Day Events:

Abington – There is a Tri-Town parade that will start at 10am on Friday, November 11th, in Whitman. The parade will begin on South Avenue. The parade will be for Abington, Whitman, and Rockland.

Bridgewater – The Tri-Town parade will happen on Friday, November 11th, at 9am, on Stepping Stone Lane, in West Bridgewater. The parade is for Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, and East Bridgewater. West Bridgewater is hosting the parade to celebrate 200 years of celebrating its veterans.

Brockton – There will be a parade that starts at the War Memorial on Friday, November 11th, at 9am. The parade will end at the City Hall, and a ceremony will begin there at 11am. In case of weather complications, the parade will be canceled, and a ceremony will happen at the War Memorial Building.

Carver – At Edaville Railroad, veterans with valid military identification will receive gold passes from Thursday to Saturday, November 10th – 12th.

Immediate family members can buy passes at half price.

Cohasset – A ceremony will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 2 Border Street. Middle High School students will sing the national anthem, and winners from Deer Hill will read essays.

Duxbury – The Duxbury Legion will have an event. The event will happen on Friday, November 11th, at 11am. There will be speakers. Guests can enjoy refreshments.

East Bridgewater – The Tri-Town parade will happen on Friday, November 11th, at 9am, on Stepping Stone Lane, in West Bridgewater. The parade is for Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, and East Bridgewater. West Bridgewater is hosting the parade to celebrate 200 years of celebrating its veterans.

Halifax – There will be a celebration in front of Town Hall, on Friday, November 11th, at 11am. The ceremony will follow the town as a “Purple Heart Town”. There will be speeches made by Steve Littlefield, Director of Veterans Services, and State Representatives, Kathy LaNatra. Pending inclement weather is to be remembered. If weather intervenes, then the ceremony will be held on the second floor, in the Great hall, on the second floor of Town Hall.

Hanover – There will be a brunch on Thursday, November 10th, at 10:30am, at the Council on Aging. There will also be a moment of silence ceremony at Hanover’s Legion, at 8am. Also on Friday, November 11th, there will be a luncheon at the Hanover Legion at 1pm.

Hanson – There will be an event on Thursday, November 10th, at 9am at the Senior Center.

Hingham – There will be a breakfast on Friday, November 11th, from 8:30am to 10:30am at Town Hall. The main event will begin at 11am, in the Sanborn Auditorium at Town Hall. The guest speaker is going to be Sergeant John Giasullo, who is a U.S. Army Veteran. Back in 2008, he was awarded with a Silver Star and Purple Heart for helping members in his platoon after there was an IED strike. He was wounded, but he helped others along to the way.

Marshfield – There will be an event held on Thursday, November 10th, at Martinson Elementary School at 10am. Students, veterans, and their families are welcomed to join. On Friday, November 11th, there will be a parade that starts at Ventress Library at 10:30am. At 11am, on Friday, November 11th, there will be a ceremony for the public at the Veterans Memorial Park.

Middleboro – There will be a ceremony at 11am on Friday, November 11th, at Town Hall.

Norwell – A ceremony and open house will be open to the public at the Central Fire Station on Main Street. There will be refreshments and coffee at the event. The event starts on Friday, November 11th, at 11am.

Pembroke – There will be an event on Friday, November 11th, at 11am, at Pembroke High School.

Plymouth – There will be a ceremony at Memorial Hall on Friday, November 11th, at 11am. It is in the Blue Room on the 2nd floor. There will be lunch provided.

Rockland – There is a Tri-Town parade that will start at 10am on Friday, November 11th, in Whitman. The parade will begin on South Avenue. The parade will be for Abington, Whitman, and Rockland.

Scituate – There will be a ceremony on Friday, November 11th, at 11am, at Scituate Veterans Advisory Council. There will be a luncheon at the Scituate Food Pantry, starting at 1pm.

Quincy – There will be a parade and ceremony to celebrate Veterans’ Day. The parade will happen on Hancock Street. The parade begins at 10:30am. It will end at Merrymount Park. Captain Christopher Hill, a US Navy Active Duty soldier will speak.

Weymouth – There will be a ceremony at the Korean War Memorial on Friday, November 11th, at 9:30am. There will be a parade starting at Jackson Square at 10:15am. There will be a ceremony at the Ralph Talbot Amphitheater at 11am. There will be another ceremony at King Oak Hill Park at 1pm.

Whitman – There is a Tri-Town parade that will start at 10am on Friday, November 11th, in Whitman. The parade will begin on South Avenue. The parade will be for Abington, Whitman, and Rockland.

West Bridgewater – The Tri-Town parade will happen on Friday, November 11th, at 9am, on Stepping Stone Lane, in West Bridgewater. The parade is for Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, and East Bridgewater. West Bridgewater is hosting the parade to celebrate 200 years of celebrating its veterans.
