A man accused of using a chainsaw in the Cohasset Police station and causing a standoff with police was due in court.
WATD’s Lenny Rowe has this:
Brien Buckley, 35, was due in Quincy District Court after he was arrested Sunday night in Cohasset.
He faces numerous charges after he was accused of using a chainsaw in the lobby of the police station, and barricading himself in a Cushing Road home with his two children inside.
In court, a doctor testified there were reasons to question his mental health and competency.
Buckley also has an open case from August, where he was accused of strangling a member of his household.
Judge Mark Coven ordered Buckley to undergo a mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital. Prosecutors reserved the right to revoke bail from the August case, and can request bail for the new case.
A next court date was scheduled for January 6, but that may be moved 20 days due to the evaluation.
