Detours, Parking Restrictions Expected Along Water Street in Plymouth Due to Sewer Project

The Plymouth Department of Public Works says construction on the Water Street Sewer Interceptor will start next week.
Traffic delays and detours will take place on weekdays on Water Street between South Park Avenue and the State Pier. Parking restrictions will be expected in the project area.
The Select Board approved using $4.7 million dollars in funding through the American Rescue Plan Act. Part of the main was built in 1969, and was located on the beach in the tide zone.
Construction is set to begin on Thursday, and will be completed by May 29, 2023.
The town is working with Northern Construction Service of Palmer.
The first set of detours start on December 12, and include eastbound traffic only from the rotary, with traffic diversions to Memorial Drive, Court Street, and Chilton Street.
