The bomb squad was called to a Bourne home after a mortar round was found Tuesday morning.
Bourne Police say that shortly before 9:30 a.m. they received a report of a possible unexploded mortar round discovered in the back yard of a residence on Depot Rd.
Bourne Fire, as well as units from the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, responded and, after an examination, it was determined that the device was an inert training munition, and wasn’t a danger.
The bomb squad removed the mortar without the need for evacuations.
