The man wanted in connection to the brutal murders of a Marshfield couple was arrested in Florida.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz and Marshfield Police Chief Phil Tavares announced in a statement 27-year-old Christopher Keeley was located and arrested near Miami Beach around 8:20 p.m. on Friday.
Keeley was wanted in connection to the murders of 70-year-olds Carl Mattson and Vicki Mattson. A missing dog was located deceased at the home, veterinary follow-up is being conducted.
The arrest follows a lengthy investigation, which is still ongoing.
Marshfield Police responded to 75 Gotham Hill Drive for a well-being check. On arrival, officers located the Mattsons with obvious signs of trauma.
Both were stabbed and bludgeoned, and were determined to be deceased at the scene.
On Wednesday, State Police issued a BOLO for Keeley, and a Jeep Wrangler he was believed to be driving was located, unoccupied, in a parking lot in Avon.
Keeley faces a hearing to determine whether he will waive rendition before his return to Massachusetts to face charges.
