For the third year, the Friends of the Marshfield Dog Park are organizing a pet food drive to benefit the Marshfield Food Pantry.
“This need was highlighted during the pandemic, and unfortunately, there is still a huge need for pet food at the pantry for them to give to Marshfield residents in need,” said Vice-President Erin Fitzpatrick.
They’re looking for treats, cat food, cat litter, and dog food.
Drop-off locations are at Marshfield Physical Therapy, Stellwagen Beer Company, Joli Medical Spa, The Venus 2, Balance Nutrition, and Coastal Treasures. The drive runs from February 1 to February 14.
The long-awaited dog park project off Rockwood Road in Marshfield is slated for a June 13th opening.
Wayne Lopes Grading and Biagini Excavation are partnering to level off the site.
“This non-profit is made up completely of volunteers. We’ve done fundraisers and different campaigns. It’s really nice to see the Marshfield community come together,” said Fitzpatrick. “All of our events are a taste of the future as to how our pet parents are responsible dog owners, and we can come together for fun events and support our community.”
