Meet Oliver, aka Ollie! Ollie is a 4 year old Labrador mix and is a very sweet boy. Ollie was originally rescued from Alabama and is currently with our friends at the Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter. He is neutered, up to date with shots and in good health. Ollie is high energy, he knows basic commands but ideally would continue training with his new owner.
Ollie is reactive towards *some* men. He has made progress with a lot of the male volunteers, but he gets fearful/barks when he sees a man he finds intimidating. It’s not clear the exact trigger or reason for this. He has no issues with many of the male volunteers and many are able to walk him and handle him with no problems. He is great with all women and our young volunteers.
Ollie’s ideal home would be with an active couple or family. He loves to go for walks/runs, and is very playful. Ollie came from a home with children, but older children would be a better fit for him given his size. Someone who works from home or is able to spend a lot of time with him would be ideal, because he really loves being around people. Ollie is playful with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats.
His ideal owner would be very dog savvy, understanding his quirks and giving him the confidence he needs. Professional training can be sponsored for his new owner. If you are interested in adopting Ollie, please fill out an application via Friendsofmarshfieldanimalshelter.org.
