In Plymouth, recovery from addiction is possible, and it’s a beautiful thing–that’s the philosophy of those who operate the Plymouth Recovery Center. And to spread the word, the group held an open house on the 26th.
Bobby Jencks, the Program Director, wants to remind the community of the recovery services they provide.

And, Bobby Jencks knows something about recovery from addiction:
“Recovery is possible. I’ve been in recovery for almost six and a half years now. During that time I’ve become the Program Director here, got to finish up with my Master’s Degree,” said Jencks. “So, even people who do suffer with substance disorder—people can find recovery, they can maintain recovery and they can live very beautiful lives.”
Many find support at the Recovery Center located at 5 Main Street Extension in downtown Plymouth.
“We’re a community-based center that anyone can come in here during business hours. We’re open 9 to 5 Monday through Friday, 9 to 3 on Saturday. And then we have a lot of evening time programs as well. So that would consist of Narcotics Anonymous Meetings, Refuge to Recovery, which is a Buddhist approach to addiction treatment. We also have an AA Meeting that meets here on Sunday.”
But the Recovery Center also reaches out and works very closely with community stakeholders:
“So, anywhere that a person who has substance abuse disorder might end up, so that could be the library, that could be the hospital, that could be the public school—we work very closely with High Point, so we get a lot of referrals,” said Jencks. “At the end of the day, no one needs any sort of insurance, there’s no sort of co-pay. Everything that happens here is free.”
The Plymouth Recovery Center is funded by the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.
