Before Tuesday, the Brockton Fire Department had never responded to a 10-alarm fire in the city.
That changed when a fire broke out at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
More than 160 patients were transferred to hospitals around the region. About 80 ambulances, six wheelchair vans, 31 fire engines, and seven ladder trucks were among the units dispatched to the scene.
There were no injuries, and the fire was located in a transformer room.
Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan commended Fire Chief Brian Nardelli and mutual aid partners who responded to that scene.
He also details an ongoing survey for D.W. Field Park and future renovations.
