The Braintree Fire Department, state Haz-Mat team, and numerous other agencies responded to a two-alarm fire at the Clean Harbors site.
The company says there were no injuries reported at the Hill Avenue Facility.
The fire was limited to several trailers that were parked at the facility. They contained a mixture of paints, expoxy, oil filters, and solvents.
In a statement, Clean Harbors says it appears materials in one of the trailers “self-reacted,” sparking the blaze. It was under control around 1 a.m. Friday.
None of the buildings on the property were impacted.
Water used in the response was contained on-site, and will be removed over the next few days.
Clean Harbors say they deployed containment equipment in the nearby waterway, but did not find indication of contamination.
Mutual aid from Quincy, Weymouth, Randolph, and Holbrook provided mutual aid to the scene.
The state Haz-Mat team and Coast Guard conducted air monitoring at the facility and nearby neighborhoods, and say the conditions remain at “normal” parameters.
