Today at 8:41Rob talks with Mike Pevzner, director of the Bay Players of Duxbury production of the play “Silent Sky”. The play tells the inspiring story of Henrietta Leavitt, a pioneering astronomer at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900’s. She and her female office peers made astronomical discoveries that changed the way we view and measure the stars, and helped establish women’s recognition in the scientific workplace. This 5-character play dramatizes Henrietta’s struggles and discoveries from the time she arrives at Harvard, through her flirtation with romance, her challenge to the male dominated world of science, the ultimate recognition of her contributions, and her battle with illness leading to her untimely passing. https://bayplayers.org
