A man has been indicted on charges in connection to the murder of a married Marshfield couple, who were found bludgeoned to death in their home.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says a grand jury indicted 28-year-old Christopher Keeley on two counts of murder, in connection to the deaths of 70-year-olds Carl and Vicki Mattson.
Keeley has been held without bail since a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf to charges in Plymouth District Court.
The grand jury indicted Keeley on additional counts of Misuse of a Credit Card, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Animal Cruelty, for killing the Mattson’s dog.
In November of 2022, Marshfield Police received a call requesting a well-being check for a home on Gotham Hill Drive.
On arrival, Marshfield Police found the victims with obvious signs of trauma. They were determined to be dead at the scene.
Keeley was an acquaintance of the Mattsons, and was identified as a suspect.
He was located and arrested a few days later in Miami Beach Florida. Police there responded to a call where a man was attacked and suffered a serious head injury. He waived his right to rendition and was returned to Massachusetts.
Keeley will be arraigned in Plymouth Superior Court at a later date.
