A man charged with issuing threats to the Derby Street Shoppes has been was found to be dangerous and released with conditions.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that April 13 Hingham Police were notified of a phone call threating to shoot down the Pride Flag with a rifle and burn it if it wasn’t removed within three days.
The caller was also recorded making disparaging remarks regarding the Jewish faith.
Investigators identified the caller as 29-year-old Gage Scammell of Weymouth and took him into custody.
He was arraigned last week on charges of Bomb/Hijack Threat with Serious Public Alarm, Threat To Commit a Crime, and Attempted Civil Rights violation.
During his dangerousness hearing on Wednesday he was released on personal recognizance on terms that included having no contact with the Derby Street Shoppes, wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, and adhere to a curfew.
He will return to court June 7.
