An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater.
The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. Monday when State Police say a 2008 Toyota Scion TC changed lanes and made contact with a 2015 Honda Accord.
The Toyota then fled the scene and as the Honda was stationary in the left travel lane, a 2022 Ford Maverick pickup struck the rear of the Honda, causing it to become fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Honda, 46-year-old Erpharo Gilbert of Raynham, was determined to be deceased on scene.
The driver of the Ford, identified as a 23-year-old Brockton man, was not injured.
The Plymouth District Attorney’s office says that 33-year-old Juan Leonardo Parra Altamirano has turned himself in connection with the crash.
He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Brockton District Court on Thursday and was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
He will will be back in court on May 4.
