Plymouth Police are warning people that a bear was spotted in town.
Police say the bear, named Buster, has been seen foraging through peoples’ trash on Bourne Rd.
They also say residents should take down bird feeders and not leave small pets unattended outside.
Other warnings posted by the department are to keep trash barrels closed and secure, do not try to cuddle with Buster, and to yell, clap, bang pots and pans, or make loud noises to frighten the bear with police saying it will most likely leave, as well as any cubs that are with it.
Residents are being told leave Buster alone if there is any emergency related to the bear to call 911 immediately.
They also say you should not attempt to shoot the bear.
