In Hull, firefighters faced wind and tough conditions during a three-alarm fire at a home.
Fire Chief Chris Russo says they responded to 5 Q Street around 5:30 p.m. yesterday.
“When they got on scene, they had heavy fire on the first floor. We had reports that people were out of the building,” said Russo. “At 5:39, we struck a second alarm, 5:49 there was a third alarm. We brought seven towns to help us with the fire. The building is a total loss, we had two other exposures that we were able to maintain.”
Russo says a dog did not make it out of the building. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
More than 60 firefighters responded to the scene.
“It’s challenging. We showed up with five guys,” said Russo. “This is a lot of work for five guys on duty to maintain this. The wind was a problem, but they did a nice job of keeping everything in between and not lose another structure.”
The State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
