It was quite the sight in Humarock, with hundreds of people boarding floats and inflatable tubes for the return of an annual tradition.
The worst-kept secret in town, the “Humaflock,” includes a leisurely ride on the South River.
“I was a beautiful mermaid today,” said Marshfield resident, Bri Doherty.
Jean Farrell says it was tough fighting the current, but had Bri leading the way.
Dozens of people line the bridges along the river to cheer on the flotilla. Participants get creative too, with hamster wheels, unique costumes, and watercraft.
Chris Silio of Sarasota, Florida, had a tough job, pulling a group with a kayak.
Heidi Blanchard, of Scituate, says they got stuck a few times in a pink convertible with 10 people, but it was a team effort to keep them going.
