WATD reached out to Mass Wildlife after reports of a driver who struck a bear on the northbound side of Route 3 near Clark Road on Wednesday morning.
The bear apparently went into the median, MSP arrived at the scene and could not locate the bear at that location.
Mass wildlife told WATD their staff also heard this initial report of a bear struck by a vehicle in Plymouth.
However, they later learned this report was just of a bear on the highway median (unclear if the bear was hit or just resting).
MassWildlife staff performed a site visit Wednesday morning in the area of the highway where the bear was seen and it was not there in the original spot.
During the site visit, the bear was observed nearby with no apparent injuries walking along a power line right of way.
