An update on that story regarding a bear that was struck by a vehicle in Plymouth Wednesday morning.
As we reported, Massachusetts State Police told WATD News that shortly after 7:15 a.m. they received a report from a driver who said they struck a bear on Route 3 near Clark Rd. in Plymouth, cruisers arrived on scene but were unable to locate the bear.
Mass Wildlife told WATD News this report was just of a bear on the highway median and during the site visit, the bear was observed nearby with no apparent injuries walking along a power line right of way.
However, the driver, Steve Munroe, reached out to WATD News and confirmed that he did in fact collide with the bear and that his car sustained damage.
Mass Wildlife then told WATD News that they received an additional report that “confirms the bear was involved in a vehicle collision, in which the bear ran into the side of a car. It reportedly laid there stunned for a minute and eventually moved off. “
They say based on this new information, and their observation of the bear moving later, they believe the bear will recover.
