A couple from Florida and their dog were rescued near Green Harbor Wednesday morning after their 36-foot boat hit a rock and began taking on water.
Marshfield Harbormaster Mike DiMeo says around 9 a.m., his office received a call of the vessel, “Persistence,” in distress and taking on water.
The couple, experienced boaters from Florida, were traveling to Boston after visiting Plymouth.
DiMeo spoke with WATD’s Charlie Fulmer about how operations were carried out following the rescue.
DiMeo says that incidents like these are unfortunate, but can happen to anyone of any experience level.
The extent of the damage to the vessel, which also serves as the couple’s home, is expected to cost more than $30,000 dollars.
