Not many, or any, teams were able to score with Duxbury last year as the Dragons romped to another state title.
The Middleboro Sachems, though, hung with Duxbury for much of their state quarterfinal matchup, putting 41 points on the board in a gutsy loss.
So much of that Sachems team, including star quarterback Jacob Briggs and running back Nate Tullish have graduated, leaving a cast of new faces to defend Middleboro’s South Shore League crown.

You won’t hear the 2023 Sachems squad, nor their coach Pat Kingman, use youth as an excuse, however. As far as they’re concerned, the league title still runs through Middleboro.
We stopped in at the Sachems camp last week to discuss the upcoming season and what to expect from the orange and black this year.
Kingman, as well as his captains Jake Calogero, Ryan DeLancey, Jack Kavaleski, and Nate Goodine let us in on their plans to repeat on this week’s Sports Exchange.
