Ryder - Quincy Animal Shelter

Say hello to Ryder! Ryder is an 8 year old purebred German Shepherd Dog (GSD). This poor pup. He had a tough go of it, then he got adopted and life was awesome. But then his owner was severely injured in a motorcycle accident and can no longer keep him.

Our friends at Quincy Animal Shelter tell us Ryder is truly a lovely dog. Great with people, fine with dogs (but can be nervous around new ones), cats are an unknown but he seems more afraid of them than anything. He is a well mannered and happy boy who was very upset in the shelter initially, but he has adjusted well and is just the best behaved dog. He loves to walk, and will find the best stick to carry with him when he does. He sits for pets and loving and will be quiet when it is quiet time. Then he will act like a puppy in the playroom with bouncing balls.

At 88 pounds he is a big dog, but his demeanor is not big. He is soft and gentle and kind.

Ryder will not do well back in the shelter. He is a healthy GSD who is a bit nervous around dogs so would do best as an only dog in the home. Ryder is in good health and has years of love to give. Are you the person who will be Ryder’s second chance? GSD fans he needs you – please share.
