State Police say a two-vehicle crash on Route 3 resulted in the death of a Weymouth woman, and a passenger was seriously injured.
Around 5 a.m., patrols responded to the area of Exit 38 in Weymouth.
Early investigation indicates a 2015 Lexus SUV and a 2020 Jeep SUV were involved in the crash.
The driver of the Lexus, a 60-year-old Weymouth woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 34-year-old man was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
A person in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital out of precaution.
Circumstances and contributing factors to the crash are still being investigated. All lanes on Route 3 Northbound were closed between 5 and 7:30 this morning, but have since re-opened.
