State Police say a carjacking suspect was arrested in Kingston after a brief chase on Route 3 Southbound.

Around 8:23 on Saturday morning, Boston Police issued a “Be on the Lookout Alert” for a Black BMW SUV that was wanted in connection with an armed carjacking.

The vehicle’s last known location was on Route 3 near the Braintree split.

Around the same time, a motorist called troopers to report a vehicle driving erratically – matching the SUV’s description.

Troopers located the vehicle on Route 3 South in Duxbury, near the North Street overpass. They tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled at a high rate of speed.

The SUV took the Route 3A exit in Kingston, and crashed into a stone wall near Main Street and Landing Road.

34-year-old Trevor Bayleaf, of Scituate, was taken into custody. He was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Troopers located a knife in plain sight inside the BMW. Boston Police responded to Kingston to document the vehicle and evidence recovered.
