John Oliveira, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MBC), says they serve over 28,000 blind and visually-impaired people in the state.
The MCB provides resources such as social and vocational rehabilitation, with the goal of increasing independence and full community participation.
Oliveira has held numerous roles at the MCB since joining in 1987, including 10 years as Deputy Commissioner.
