A cruise ship passenger was Medevaced off Cape Cod on Monday night.
The Coast Guard says that at 6:35 p.m. they received a report from the Carnival Legend that a woman on board the cruise ship was experiencing abdominal pains and had been vomiting throughout the day.
The vessel, which was en route to Greenland, was located 180 nautical miles from Cape Cod.
A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a HH-144 Ocean Sentry aircrew were launched from Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod to assist.
The aircrew arrived on scene shortly before 10:30 p.m. and the Jayhawk’s crew safely hoisted the patient and the cruise ship nurse at around 11 p.m. and transferred them to emergency medical services.
