In Plymouth, William Coyle, P.E. or Professional Engineer, is the new Director of the Department of Public Works. He follows long time DPW Director Jonathan Beder who resigned early this year after about a dozen years of service. Bill, as he is called, comes to town after working for three years as Deputy Commissioner of Public Works for the city of Worcester.

And no, Town Manager Derek Brindisi, during his time working for the City of Worcester, was not acquainted with Bill Coyle:
“I left the City of Worcester in 2015, and his arrival was 2020 or 2021.”
DPW Director Coyle says he’s glad to be here and gives Plymouth high marks:
“I’m very impressed with the team and all the people I’ve met so far. They all care about the job—you can tell they take a lot of pride in their job—that’s huge. And my first day here, when I went home and talked to my wife, I said , you know I’m thrilled, the people I’ve met have been wonderful.”
Coyle says he’s very excited about working on… “…some of the major projects we have here in town: the Stephen’s Field project, we have several bridge projects that are very important to the community,”
And concerning the Water Street sewer interceptor project, Coyle says…
“..so, I actually have a meeting this afternoon to discuss that project—and once we get started after Thanksgiving we can get the project moving and wrapped up before spring.”
