Whitman Police are investigating after cars were stolen from a local dealership.

Chief Timothy Hanlon says shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday Brockton Police told them about an investigation into a crash involving a white Ford Explorer on Crescent St.

An initial investigation determined that the car involved had been stolen from a dealership on Temple St. in Whitman.

It was later determined that at about 1 a.m. three individuals were driven to the lot in a small, dark-colored SUV, and stole three vehicles, a Mazda CX7, a BMW, and a Nissan Murano.

A short time later they returned in the same SUV and stole the Explorer and a second BMW.

Police say two of the suspects were wearing black hooded sweatshirts at the time, while the third suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to contact Whitman Police at 781-447-1212.
