The road hasn’t been the smoothest for the Middleboro Sachems thus far in their South Shore League title defense.
Still, they remain undefeated in league and in a position to be in the mix in Division 4 once again.

The title defense was always going to be challenging for Middleboro, who endured attrition at a number of key positions in the offseason.
A loaded league only got better in 2023, with Rockland keeping steady, Abington returning to form, and Norwell re-entering the mix. Add in conference newcomer Sandwich and a more than game East Bridgewater and you’ve got a gauntlet of a league schedule.
Pat Kingman’s group is motivated, though, and perhaps even more importantly, ready to hold each other accountable.
On Sunday night, three of Middleboro’s captains, Jake Calogero, Jack Kavaleski, and Nate Goodine, joined the Sports Exchange to discuss the season thus far.
They discussed their title defense, their big win over Taunton, Goodine’s transition to quarterback, and more.
