Charges have been filed in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Brockton.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced says that at approximately 6:17 p.m. on December 5, Brockton Police were contacted about a shooting in the vicinity of 28 Lexington St. and Green St.
First responders arrived on scene to find a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as 35-year-old Marvin Hill of Brockton, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital before being medflighted to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, which involved the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant was obtained on December 8, for 33-year-old Donta Hood.
He was eventually located at a home in Assonet and he was taken into custody and was arraigned in Brockton District Court on Wednesday on one count each of Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Discharging a Weapon Within 500 feet of a Building, Possession of a Firearm Without a License, and Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card.
He pleaded not guilty and was held without bail.
Hood is next scheduled to appear in court on January 25.
