In Plymouth, folks have begun moving into Rowen, the new Pinehills apartment building—a building the Bozzuto company has been constructing on the Village Green for over two years.
Bobbi Clark has more…
Deborah Sedares, is President of Pinehills, LLC.
“There’s 178 apartments. They range from one bedroom, two bedroom and a few three bedrooms. There’s going to be about 300 residents. There are about 15 residents that are expected to move in before the end of the year and there are about 29 leases that have been signed.”
In addition to the residential space, commercial space is included:
“…about 7,000 square feet of mixed use commercial on the first floor—that commercial will include Cape Cod 5 bank and a new book store called Book Love, owned and operated by a Pinehills resident, and then our third spot, we hope to have a restaurant fill that space.”
But the project is not without its critics, some say the building is overpowering and offends the charm of the Village Green:
“It’s different, but it is in keeping with how we envisioned the Village Green to be.”
Occupants of the Rowen will be part of the Pinehills residential community:
“The Pinehills was permitted to have 3,065 homes and 1.3 million square feet of commercial mixed-use space, which includes our apartments. In terms of homes, we’ve built out about 2,550. So, we have about another five hundred still to be built and sold.”
And as for commercial mixed-use space…
“…we have about 110,000 square feet remaining that we could build.”
