Despite featuring one of the deepest crops of South Shore teams to date, this year’s Super Bowl week at Gillette Stadium left something to be desired for area fans.
Local teams were involved in six of the eight state title games this year, but managed to come away with just three titles.
Each of the three days followed a similar pattern, with one South Shore team winning, and one South Shore team losing.
In the end, it was Duxbury, Milton, and Xaverian walking away as state champs.

Carver, Marshfield, Scituate, and Hanover all came away on the wrong side of things, each falling in lopsided defeats.
While the games did not go as they’d hoped, the seasons were still immensely successful for each team.
