Two men are facing charges for allegedly taking part in a drug transaction in East Bridgewater.
Police Chief Michael Jenkins says that shortly 3 p.m. Wednesday a detective was conducting surveillance in an unmarked cruiser in the area of the Carriage Crossing Shopping Center, 225 Bedford St. when he saw what he believed to be a drug transaction involving an individual in a Subaru SUV and an individual in a pickup truck.
Officers responded and detained 24-year-old Deandre Rodriguez of Brockton and the other suspect identified as a 32-year-old Duxbury man.
During a search of Rodriguez’s vehicle officers located 43.2 grams of Fentanyl, 1.4 grams of Crack Cocaine, packaging materials and a large amount of cash.
Rodriguez is being charged with Distribution of a Class A Substance (Subsequent Offense); Trafficking Fentanyl (More Than 10 Grams); Possession of a Class B Substance; and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.
Police also found a small amount of a white powdery substance, determined to be Fentanyl, in a folded receipt in the 32-year-old Duxbury man’s wallet and he is being summonsed on the charge of Possession of a Class A Substance (Fentanyl) and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law and will be arraigned at Brockton District Court at a later date.
