Braintree’s New Mayor has officially taken office.
Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll administered the oath of office on Tuesday to the town’s third mayor, and first woman elected to that position, with Driscoll saying that her and Joyce were part of a growing sisterhood.
Congressman Stephen Lynch also spoke during the ceremony, pledging to work with Joyce to further the interests of the community.
Joyce began her remarks by acknowledging her predecessor, Charles Kokoros.
She also discussed the creation of a new position to seek new economic opportunities for the town.
Joyce also said that the budget was a top priority.
Other officials were also sworn into office and the Town Council was re-organized with Charles Ryan being selected as the Council President.
