Friday night (1/12/24), at approximately 8 p.m., Brockton Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office after a shooting occurred inside the Hibachi Sushi Supreme Buffet, located at 718 Crescent Street. The male victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. He has been identified as 22 year-old Joe Araujo of Brockton. The investigation is active and ongoing by MSP and Brockton Police. Preliminarily, the victim appears to have been the target, and this was not a random act of violence.
