A call for a well being check on a local Marshfield woman on Monday night, turned into an attack on several police officers.
According to Marshfield Police Chief Phil Tavares, the woman, who has a history of violent behavior, became argumentative, starting behaving erratically, exhibiting delusional behavior and became violent.
The officers were able to subdue her, even after the taser seemed to have no effect on her – the woman was uninjured and taken to a local hospital.
The woman, identified as 42 year old Gina Martell, of Marshfield, is facing several charges including assault with intent to murder or maim, assault and battery on a police officer (2 counts) assault and battery dangerous weapon, and other related charges.
The injured officers are expected to make a full recovery.
