Say hello to Mr. Man, a 2-3 year old Pitt mix who weights around 23 pounds. Mr. Man is currently residing with a foster family through Buddy & Friends Animal Rescue in Pembroke and here is what his foster mom has to say about him:
Mr. Man is what I would call a “worth it work in progress”. He does not have a single bad intention in his head. He’s basically a puppy in an adults body – he needs help making good choices. Mr. Man is going to need an active, patient home who is willing for training to be a daily part of his routine. This boy loves learning new things and it is a great way to get his brain and body to relax. He is a go go go type of dog and we are working hard to help him be able to self soothe and relax more. Every day I see improvement in him choosing to be settled instead of wild. This is because we truly work on his training every. single. day. This boy is so full of personality and love. He wants to be as close to his humans as possible. He is slowly figuring out squeaky toys. His signature move is it to pick a toy up and then give you his butt so you can give him scratches. He does very well in his crate and he sleeps through the night. He will whine when he is in the crate, and you are doing things around the house— but I think that the more we work on self-soothing the better this will get. Mr. Man is also potty trained! He knows his basic obedience very well, and when his brain is focused, he has distance and duration down. Often times he and needs some help remembering his manners like being polite in greetings with new people. He has learned some fun tricks like doggie pushups and paw. He is working to learn sir pretty, a hold trick and center. Mr. Man is working hard on learning not to jump when he gets too excited, but he doesn’t know how big he is so I would say he would do best without small kids in the house. He can be mouthy when overstimulated, but the more he works on his training the better he gets! Someone who can take him for outings and adventures and help him learn though these new situations will be a perfect match. This boy has nothing but love to give and with some patience and guidance he will make someone an amazing dog.
