A suspect being sought for the death of a Whitman woman has been re-arrested in Kenya after previously escaping custody in that country.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations says that 41-year-old Kevin Kangethe was taken into custody last night following a “scrupulous intelligence-led operation.”

Margaret Mbitu, who was 31-years-old at the time, was last seen leaving work in Halifax around 11 p.m. on October 30.

Her body was discovered two days later at a parking garage at Boston Logan International Airport.

Kangethe, was accused of murdering her, then flying off to Kenya.

He was arrested in January then escaped from a police station where he was being held awaiting extradition to the United States.
