Crews were called to the scene of a fire in Carver.
Deputy Fire Chief Eric Germaine says that at approximately 2:38 p.m. Tuesday afternoon they received a 911 call regarding a structure fire at 6 Woodlawn Dr.
Upon arrival firefighters found heavy fire showing from the right side of the home and that one of the home’s occupants escaped on her own before they arrived.
Germaine says efforts to put down the fire were hampered by “significant clutter” inside the home.
At one point the structure became unstable and firefighters were ordered out of the building due to safety concerns and the first floor of the home collapsed into the basement.
During the height of the blaze roughly 40 Carver firefighters were at the scene, before the fire was eventually brought under control.
No injuries were reported but the home is considered a total loss.
Plymouth provided station coverage.
The incident remains under investigation by the Carver Fire Department with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit attached the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
