A former National Guard building in Brockton is being converted into a housing resource center for the homeless. John Yazwinnki, CEO of Father Bill’s and MainSpring, led a tour of the facility that is under construction recently. He said the new center will include a permanent housing option and replace the downtown Brockton MainSpring shelter.
The Plymouth County Commissioners, through the American Rescue Plan ,or ARPA funds, donated three hundred thousand dollars towards the twenty million dollar construction cost. Chair Jared Valanzola sad the resource center will help address homelessness in the Brockton area.
The new Brockton Housing Resource Center is scheduled to open later this year.
