Thursday is Pi Day, a day when we take time to celebrate the mathematical constant.

Professor Charles Norvish, who teaches Math at Quincy College’s Plymouth Campus, tells WATD News that the day also has a connection with one of history’s most renowned scientists.

Professor Norvish also suggested a fun Pi Day trick you can try with a piece of paper and a mirror.

Norvish says there are even Pi Day jokes, like this one he shared with his wife.

Pi Day was started in 1988 by Larry Shaw, an employee of the San Francisco science museum, the Exploratorium.
