In Plymouth, the annual town election is Saturday May 18th. Candidates have until this Friday, March 29th, to return nominations papers. Town Clerk Kelly McElreath has an update on what the ballot will look like at this point.

Town Clerk Kelly McElreath:
“On the ballot will be the one position for the Select Board, one position— a 5 year position for the Planning Board, three positions for a 3 year term on the School Committee, one position, for a 5 year term for the Housing Authority, and a one position for 5 years for Redevelopment.”
The Select Board position is a 3 year term.
And the Town Clerk reminds candidates:
“The candidates have until this Friday, at 5PM, March 29th, to return nomination papers. At this point, we have one person, David Golden, who will be on the ballot for Select Board, There has been someone that has taken out papers and I’m waiting for those papers to be returned for Select Board as well.”
And, in addition, McElreath says…
“There’s two people running for the Planning Board, Frank Mand and Timothy Bennett, There’s one person for the Redevelopment, Stephen Michael Palmer. One person for the Housing Authority, Dennis Sampson.”
For the School Committee openings:
“Five people have taken out papers for the School Committee. We’re still waiting to get papers back from the School Committee candidates.”
Ashley Shaw has returned papers for School Committee.
As for late return of papers, the Town Clerk says:
“It’s not unusual for elections, many candidates do wait until the deadline to return the papers.”
