In Plymouth, …the end of the month will see the end of the two year term of Brad Brothers as Assistant Town Manager because he has been chosen, by the Selectmen in Palmer, to be their next Town Manager…this, announced by Town Manager Derek Brindisi at the Select Board meeting of the 12th…but the new Assistant Town Manager is not new to town hall:
WATD’s Bobbi Clark has more…
And because of Brad Brothers departure, Town Manager Derek Brindisi also advised the Select Board…
“…that Silvio Genao, who’s been serving as our Human Resources Director for some time now, will be assuming the role, effective April 1st of the Assistant Town Manager.”
Brindisi, who served as Plymouth’s Assistant Town Manager from 2015 to 2017, says the role is different today:
“Assistant Town Manager now really is my right hand person in assisting a lot of the day-to-day operations of town business. So, in the past when I served as the Assistant Town Manager, I would really work with the Procurement Office, the Town Clerk’s office and the airport. Now the Assistant Town Manager is more expansive and our Assistant Town Manager works directly with our Fire Department, our Police Department and DPW.”
And the new Assistant Town Manager, Silvio Genao, has previous experience working for the town:
“My first role in Plymouth was as the Assistant DPW Director, some years back. And then a couple of years ago I was hired as the HR Director, so I’ve been here in three different capacities now. I’ve been able to develop a lot of relationships with a lot of good people who work for the town –a lot of good staff and a lot of stakeholders.”
