One man has died following a moped crash in Hanson.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office says that at approximately 1:16 p.m. on Sunday Hanson Police were conducting a separate call at a residence when officers reported hearing a crash nearby.
Officers responded to the area of 38 Elm St. where they found a black moped that has crashed into the wood line of the roadway.
The male operator, identified as 44-year-old Jozef Knop, was found a short distance away, unresponsive with severe head trauma.
He was transported to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The DA’s Office says Knop was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hanson Police Department.
