Meet River, the golden-hearted 10-year-old yellow lab in search of his forever home! The Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter tell us River’s journey led him to the shelter after years of being used for breeding, but now he’s ready to experience the love and comfort of a real home. He’s already up to date on all vaccines and has been neutered, and with some patience and guidance, we believe he’ll adjust to the joys of “dog life” in no time. While he wears belly bands indoors to prevent marking, we’re optimistic that being neutered will help him break this habit. River gets along with other dogs, and we believe he could also live with cats. River enjoys leisurely walks and could benefit from shedding a few pounds, but his loving nature shines through as he seeks companionship and affection. Although he’s not familiar with basic commands, River’s eager to learn and eager to share his golden years with a family who’ll cherish him.
