You don’t become one of the top programs in the area without consistently testing your mettle.
Despite losing 10 seniors from last year’s state runner-up squad, the Norwell girls lacrosse team sought no reprieve in their 2024 schedule.
Across a 19 game slate, the Clippers will face 11 opponents who are currently ranked top-10 in their division by the MIAA Power Rankings, including the top team in Divisions 1 (Central Catholic), 2 (Notre Dame Academy), and 3 (Medfield).
As it stands, just three of Norwell’s opponents are in position to miss the playoffs this year.
Nobody expected it to be easy, and though a 4-5 record through their first nine games is not to the Clippers’ standards, it affirms the challenge they’ve laid out for themselves.

Burns and Cox spoke on the early season challenges, their plans to turn things around, and the rivalry-laden schedule that lies ahead.
