Four girls were injured in what’s being called an unprovoked attack at a Braintree movie theater.
Braintree Police say that at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday a male entered the AMC 10 Braintree on Grandview Ave., walked past the ticket counter and entered one of the theaters without paying.
Once inside the theater he came upon four girls between 9 and 17-years-old and stabbed them before fleeing the scene in a black SUV.
The victims were transported to Boston hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Through the use of video footage officers were able to get a license plate number on the vehicle and a broadcast was put out to law enforcement.
Roughly an hour later Massachusetts State Police say they began receiving 911 calls about a reported stabbing at the McDonalds inside the Route 3 Park and Ride in Plymouth.
Upon arrival Troopers located a 21-year-old female and a 29-year-old male with apparent stab wounds.
The victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life threating injuries.
State Police say the suspect’s vehicle was spotted in Sandwich and Troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over but it wouldn’t stop.
The vehicle later crashed and the suspect was taken into custody and is being treated at an area hospital.
Both State Police and Braintree Police say they believe there is a “likely connection” between the two incidents.
The incident remains under investigation.
